One of the primary missions of the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève is to support artists. This drove the Institution to launch from 2013 an artists-in-residence program in its own building. Each year, three artists will be in residence for four month each. This residency aims at proposing a dialogue not only between artists from different areas of the country, but also between the residents and the international artists whose work is presented at the Centre.
The experience will be extended by an exhibition at the Centre’s “Project Space” and a catalogue publication. These two elements are crucial steps in an emerging artist’s career and they allow the Centre to play an active part in the development of young artist’s careers. A grant of CHF 10’000.- will be offered to the artists for the realisation of their projects.
