To mark the closing of Pauline Coquart’s exhibition Short Ass Attention Span #3, artist Debbie Alagen will present his first book, What Happens to Dead Pigeons on the Street?, published by the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève.
Written entirely on his phone—a mix of spontaneous notes and deliberate fiction—Debbie Alagen’s collection explores everyday life, gender, and the ordinary violence of cities with disarming precision and honesty. From dead pigeons to gendered restrooms, including a song that may not actually be one, each text surprises with its form and strikes straight to the heart, never imposing an answer, but merely whispering questions and leaving them hanging.
Followed by a conversation between the artist and Pauline Coquart, author of the afterword.
