Draw with Mirek

Draw with Mirek

After having dedicated a solo exhibition to him, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève continues its adventure with Miroslav Marsalek – known as Mirek – by offering him the opportunity to share his knowledge during drawing classes open to all (from 15 years old), throughout the year. With a technique worthy of a renaissance artist, Miroslav Marsalek retranscribes in his drawings the observations and experiments of his daily life. On his notebooks, sketches, portraits of people and calligraphic writings on various subjects are intertwined: from art history to cooking recipes, from autobiographical notes to quotations from poets and philosophers.

These courses propose to initiate and acquire the basic techniques of drawing: perspective, proportion, volume… It is also a question, in contact with Mirek, of sharpening one’s look and perception to learn to “see better”. Working from reality or imagination, each participant is invited to express his or her creativity and to develop a personal style that will take shape in an individual drawing book, in the manner of Mirek.
