Hayan Kam Nakache – Figurines de Genève

Hayan Kam Nakache
Figurines de Genève

Throughout his residency at the Centre, Hayan forced himself to paint a large variety of subjects on medium format sized paper surfaces. The human figure in its primitive form is a recurrent theme of Hayan’s work, visible in more or less obvious terms in almost all his paintings. Improvisation and gesture are at the heart of his practice.

Hayan Kam Nakache (*1982), lives and works in Geneva. He graduated from the Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design de Genève (2009). As part of the artist’s collective Tobby Landei, he participated in various exhibitions in 2013 : Hotel Abisso (Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève), A la recherche de la bohème perdue (CAN, Neuchâtel) and 40 ans Visarte  (Manoir de Martigny). Tobby Landei recently published its first book: « Travaux 2009-2013 ».

In 2013 Hayan took part of the exhibition Travelling Généalogique at Marbriers 4, Geneva. He was also in residence at the Villa for Swiss artists » in  Geziret el Daha (Cairo, Egypt). Hayan’s work was published in “Sources” a project by Vincent Romagny, published by éditions Rond-point projects, Paris.
