Fully illustrated catalogue of the 14th Geneva Biennial, re-launched by Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève. The 2014 edition presents 22 films and videos works, specially commissioned by the Centre (from September 18 to November 23, 2014).

In 2014, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève re-launched a completely redesigned version of the Biennale. Strongly influenced by the history handed down by André Iten and the Centre pour l’Image Contemporaine, this new version also looks at the future and is committed to a young generation of artists. The originality of the new BIM is that it consists exclusively of works of which the Centre is both the sponsor and the producer, thus distinguishing itself from the usual format of the biennials.

Under the artistic direction of Andrea Bellini (Director of the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève), Hans Ulrich Obrist (Curator and co-director of the Serpentine Gallery, London) and Yann Chateigné (Head of the Department of Visual Arts at the HEAD – Geneva), the BIM 2014 presents 22 new works produced and commissioned by the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève.

With Gabriel Abrantes, Ed Atkins, Alexandra Bachzetsis, Mark Boulos, Alexander Carver & Daniel Schmidt, Benjamin Crotty, Basil Da Cunha, Andrew Hardwidge, Tom Huett, Pauline Julier, Marie Kølbaek Iversen, Donna Kukama, Arvo Leo, Isabel Lewis, Felix Melia, Heather Phillipson, Li Ran, James Richards, Jeremy Shaw, Carlo Gabriele Tribbioli & Federico Lodoli, Hannah Weinberger, Mai-Thu Perret, Luciano Giaccari, Mathieu Copeland.
