Moving Picture Academy
Video art and moving images have been made a core part of contemporary art over the last few decades. From digital works to the virtual, via the cinema on show, everywhere the production of moving images is becoming democratized and accessible. At the heart of this form remains the experience of innovative creativity, collective production, and renewed technical work.
Known for the Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement, the Centre d’Art Contemporain is offering the School of the Moving Image to teach high school students and associations the basics of video writing, directing, and post-production, combining theoretical references with hands-on practice with technicians and mediators. The program is divided into 4 sessions per term, each lasting an hour and a half, taking part between the premises of the class enrolled and the spaces of the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, which will host it. The sessions comprise three main stages:
Writing: scriptwriting, dialogues, storyboarding, distribution of roles and crew positions.
Directing: technical initiation (camera and sound recording) and studio shooting.
Post-production: editing, special effects, mixing, colorimetry
