Tu es – Counting the words


In 2014, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève welcomed performer and artist Marina Abramovic to propose to the public the exercise Counting the Rice. Among the participants was the writer and poet, Heike Fiedler. While participating in the exercise, she wrote one word for each grain of rice moved. This text is published today in her latest book Tu es! hier (2022, spoken script edition).

On the occasion of the release of her book, Heike Fiedler returns to the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève on Tuesday, October 18 to give      a reading of the text which resulted      from her participation in      Counting the Rice     .

Heike Fiedler (b.1963) is a Swiss-German writer, sound and visual poet, and explorer of      intermediality. A      polyglot, her work is situated between languages, as well as between composition and improvisation. For      more than 20 years, she has performed      worldwide at      festivals of literature, poetry, performance art and music. She has published 7 books.      Her most recent      publications include     : En attendant le poème (2020), Dans l’intervalle des turbulences (2020), Je de mots (2021), Tu es! hier (2022).
