This year, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève is co-producing seven exhibitions and events of the “PLEASE TRUST ME” program organized by Le Trou.⁠

Inaugurated in April 2024, Le Trou is a project initiated by Montserrat Mayor and Agathe de Limoges with the contribution of Marie Lucas Scarpa for the exhibition texts. It was selected as part of our call for projects launched last year. It is an old garage pit transformed into an art space. Le Trou overturns the hanging system, by altering the traditional frontal relationship with the works and inviting the public to navigate the space in a new way.⁠

On Friday, September 19, Le Trou presents the exhibition “Vous pouvez penser que je ne suis qu’un simple trou, mais sachez que je suis bien plus que ça” by Nearest Pond. Through a pre-apocalyptic monologue narrated by an eccentric character, the artists offer a speculative reflection on ways to escape the disasters surrounding us. Between self-mockery and vertigo, it is an invitation to think about alternative futures.⁠
