Rochelle Feinstein
Video Works
Parallel to the exhibition In Anticipation of Women’s History Month, Rochelle Feinstein has the pleasure to present two films at the Cinema Dynamo: Recording, (17 min, 2014) and Toy George,
(5 min 23 sec, 2014).
These two videos are the artist’s first moving image works made as free standing pieces. Earlier works, dating from 2002, were made to be displayed alongside paintings and photographs.
Both of these new works sustain Feinstein’s fascination with duration and the distinct differences between painting time and moving image time. They also further distill, the subject of time as embodied within a single time-signature (Recording), and the extinction of a sub-species of tortoise (Toy George) over time.
