During her residency at the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, Anaïs Wenger was inspired by the people who decide to change roles or even their history almost overnight, or by those actors who work to become different even before the beginning of a shooting.

Following a simple dramatic challenge – to go beyond her limits – the artist has chosen to immerse herself in a discipline where the question of point of view is essential and the environment conducive to the circulation of the gaze: figure skating. From documentaries to fiction, many films inscribe their plot in this setting, defining an aesthetic genre in its own right. To be part of this story, the artist worked with Sayaka Mizuno, a filmmaker and former Swiss champion in her category to make the film Étoile.
