L’eau brûle

The Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève is pleased to present L’eau brûle (2023) by Lucia Martinez Garcia, at Cinema Dynamo.

In 2021, Lucia Martinez Garcia won the Swiss Moving Image Award, awarded by the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève and an international jury, as part of the Almusibli Panorama program presented on the 5th floor. She received CHF 10,000 for the production of a new film, that she made over the past year. L’eau brûle premieres on Tuesday, September 5 in the presence of the filmmaker (on a loop from 6pm to 9pm).

Lucia Martinez Garcia (*1994) is a video artist, director and editor who lives and works between Geneva and Paris. Her films explore the passage from adolescence to adulthood. Using no professional actors, the fictions generated are based on their immediate reality. For Martinez Garcia, fiction often slips into the folds of reality, bringing out stories that are as minimal as they are essential.

This is the story of a woman with a broken heart. It’s the story of a woman who’s leaving. She flees the world, the suffering, the tears and the cries. She finds the light.
